Somewhere between hurt and pissed
I just watched an hour of Democracy Now! on realplayer while I surfed blogmad.
I had listened to a bit of it during my lunchbreak today, but to watch the program (audio + visual = powerful event) just broke through and got to me.
Amy Goodman spent her entire hour interviewing various persons involved in the recent case against Blackwater. Remember those four contractors who had their bodies burned and displayed in Fallujah that precipitated the U.S. Military dropping the hammer on that city? The mother of one of those men was on her show.
I'm so filled up I can barely type. I bet I've seen more images of the war on the ground in Iraq than a Fox New's viewer sees in a fucking year.
And fuck you. Fuck you to all you neo-cons, all you 'peace through strength' bitches, all you dumb-fucks who listen to right wing talkshow hosts and whine about how 'the media ain't telling the happy stories in Iraq.' Fuck you.
If you support the war in Iraq than you have a motherfucking obli-fucking-gation to view at least an hour of this sort of footage every week. These guys who are dying over there are not clone troopers, they ain't some combination of polygons in some fucking Tom Clancy 'glorify the military' video games. They are real fucking guys who have hours of family video of them rock climbing and playing with their kids. You better fucking watch it, you fucking owe them that.
The link is here. I'd love some comments, but you neo-conned better watch the footage before you go regurgitating talking points. In America we are citizens; citizens have responsibilities as well as privledges. During Vietnam these images would have been on your T.V. every night, now you have to go out of your way to see them - but you better fucking see them if you want to claim that your ball's swing free.

For some people, pain isn't real until it hits their own home. I can't begin to imagine all the anguish that is so callously being swept aside by chickenhawks and the misinformed.
Thanks for the welcome over here.
